New microscope could speed up cervical cancer diagnosis in low-resource settings

NCT ID NCT06850402

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests a special microscope that takes detailed pictures of cervical tissue right where the patient is, without waiting for a lab. About 400 women in Mozambique and Brazil who need a cervical biopsy or LEEP procedure will join. The goal is to see if this new method can give doctors the same quality images as standard lab processing, but much faster.
