AI-Powered stethoscope aims to spot hidden lung heart condition

NCT ID NCT05873387

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special digital stethoscope that also records a single-lead ECG can help doctors spot signs of pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs). Researchers will collect heart and lung sound recordings from over 2,400 adults who are already scheduled for heart ultrasound or right heart catheterization. The goal is to train a computer algorithm to detect the condition and its severity, potentially making diagnosis faster and less invasive.
