NCT ID NCT05778734

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new therapy that combines rewards for staying sober with problem-solving skills can help young adults (ages 18-24) with alcohol use disorder quit drinking. About 104 participants will be split into two groups: one gets the new combined therapy, the other gets rewards alone. Researchers will track alcohol abstinence for 6 months and use brain scans to understand how the therapy works.
