This study used brain scans (fMRI) to see how people with major depression think during different mental states. 89 adults had their brain activity recorded while they engaged in various thoughts, including negative thinking. The goal was to identify brain circuits involved in getting stuck on negative thoughts, which could help develop better treatments in the future.
