First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is testing a specially designed counseling program called DeafMET for Deaf adults who use American Sign Language and have risky drinking habits. The program adapts a standard therapy to be culturally and linguistically accessible, delivered in person or online. Researchers will check if the program is practical, liked by participants, and helps people feel more ready to change their drinking. Only 10 people will take part in this early phase to guide future, larger studies.
