Awake mastectomy and Same-Day discharge: a game changer for breast cancer surgery?
NCT ID NCT07510698
First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study compares a new care pathway called AMADeuS, where women have awake mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction and go home the same day, to standard hospital care. Researchers want to see if it controls pain just as well and is as safe during the first month after surgery. The study involves 100 women aged 18 to 75 with early breast cancer or high genetic risk who are suitable for day surgery and telemedicine follow-up.
