Summary
This small pilot study aimed to see if a specific type of weight-loss surgery (laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy) could be safely performed as a 'day-case' procedure, where patients go home the same day. It involved 30 adults with obesity to check if this approach was practical and safe by tracking unexpected hospital admissions and complications. The main goal was to understand the feasibility of this faster recovery model, not to test the surgery's effectiveness for weight loss itself.
