Scientists test if DASH diet creates healthier gut bacteria
NCT ID NCT04538482
Summary
This study is investigating how two different diets affect the community of bacteria living in our guts. Researchers provided all meals for 115 healthy Black and White adults in Alabama for 28 days, with half eating a DASH diet and half eating a standard American diet. They are analyzing stool samples to see if the DASH diet leads to more diverse gut bacteria and lower levels of inflammation, which could help reduce the risk of diseases like cancer.
