Dance your stress away: new study tests mindful movement for happiness
NCT ID NCT07262177
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 12-week program combining modern dance with mindfulness practices can improve psychological wellbeing, reduce stress, and increase happiness in recreational adult dancers. About 160 participants will be randomly assigned to the program or a waitlist. The program includes weekly 90-minute sessions with breathing exercises, dance techniques, and journaling.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Dance-Mindfulness Intervention (behavioral)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a fun, accessible way to improve mental wellbeing and stress management for adults who already dance.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial in healthy volunteers, so results may not apply to the general public. The program requires a 12-week commitment, and benefits may vary.
