First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether a technique called ischemic postconditioning, done during emergency artery-opening treatment, can reduce heart muscle damage and improve outcomes for people having a severe heart attack (STEMI). About 1,800 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the extra technique or standard care. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the chance of dying or being hospitalized for heart failure.
