Tooth inflammation markers may predict treatment outcomes
NCT ID NCT07261761
First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at 40 people with tooth pulp inflammation (reversible or irreversible pulpitis) to see if certain immune markers (IL-8 and IL-10) in the blood could predict how well a tooth-saving treatment (vital pulp therapy) works. Participants received the therapy, and a comparison group had healthy teeth extracted for orthodontic reasons. The goal was to link cytokine levels with treatment success, measured by pain and X-ray findings.
