Summary
This study compares two ways of giving phototherapy (light treatment) to extremely premature infants with jaundice. The standard method uses continuous light, while the new approach cycles the light on and off. Researchers want to see if cycled phototherapy helps more babies survive to go home, while reducing total light exposure. About 1,700 babies born weighing less than 750 grams or before 27 weeks are being studied.
