New immune cell treatment offers hope for rare brain infection

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare and serious brain infection. The treatment uses specially grown immune cells from a healthy donor to fight the virus causing PML. The study will enroll 23 adults with PML not caused by HIV or certain medications, and will check if the treatment is safe, improves survival, and enhances quality of life.
