First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a highly absorbable form of curcumin (BCM-95) can reduce severe gut side effects like diarrhea and rectal pain in 72 adults with mid-to-low rectal cancer who are receiving chemoradiotherapy before surgery. Participants will take curcumin capsules daily during treatment, and researchers will monitor side effects, tumor response, and quality of life. The goal is to see if this natural supplement can make standard cancer therapy more tolerable.
