New device helps Parkinson's patients beat freezing episodes

Summary

This study tests a device called Cue2Walk that automatically detects when people with Parkinson's disease freeze while walking and provides rhythmic cues to help them keep moving. The goal is to see if it improves quality of life and reduces freezing compared to usual care. About 84 participants with daily freezing episodes will use the device at home.
