Blood test may predict pancreatic cancer outcomes
NCT ID NCT05052671
First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study is looking at tiny pieces of tumor DNA (ctDNA) in the blood of 50 people with pancreatic cancer that can be surgically removed. Researchers want to see how often ctDNA is found and whether it relates to how long patients live without the cancer getting worse. The goal is to gather information that could lead to better ways to diagnose and treat this disease in the future.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors use a simple blood test to better predict outcomes and personalize treatment for pancreatic cancer patients.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study. It is not testing a new treatment, so it may not directly change patient care. Results may not apply to all patients.
