Summary
This study tested a new CT-based method to measure bone health and fracture risk in 560 current or former smokers with and without COPD. The goal was to see if detailed bone structure scans could predict fractures better than standard bone density tests. Researchers hope this tool will lead to more personalized fracture-risk assessments for people with COPD.
