Freezing needle may beat standard shot for agonizing foot pain

NCT ID NCT05501262

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tests whether freezing the nerve (cryoablation) plus a standard steroid and numbing injection works better than the injection alone for Morton's neuroma, a painful foot nerve condition. About 32 adults who haven't improved with basic treatments like orthotics will be enrolled. The goal is to see if cryoablation provides better pain relief and quality of life with fewer side effects.
