Doctors test using Patients' own fat to heal Crohn's wounds

NCT ID NCT05594862

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a patient's own processed fat tissue can help heal complex fistulas (abnormal tunnels) around the anus in people with Crohn's disease. It's for patients whose fistulas haven't gotten better with standard biologic drugs. Researchers will compare this injection treatment to a standard surgical procedure to see which is more effective at closing the fistulas and improving quality of life.
