Creatine fails to ease concussion symptoms in small trial
NCT ID NCT06644131
First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking creatine monohydrate daily for seven weeks could reduce persistent symptoms after a mild concussion. Thirty-four adults aged 20 to 45 who had symptoms for 6 to 18 months took part. While the trial showed it was possible to run such a study, the creatine group did not have significantly fewer symptoms than the placebo or usual-care groups. Larger studies are needed to know for sure if creatine might help.
