First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking creatine, a supplement often used for muscle strength, can help protect the brain in older adults having surgery. Surgery can sometimes cause confusion or memory problems, especially in older people. Researchers will give creatine to 80 adults scheduled for surgery and check their thinking skills before and after the operation.
