Could a cream made from breast milk keep newborns out of the NICU?

NCT ID NCT07217483

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a cream made from pasteurized human donor milk to treat low blood sugar in newborns at risk. Researchers want to see if the cream can raise and stabilize blood sugar better than current treatments, and if it can reduce the need for intensive care. About 75 newborns will receive the cream, and parents and nurses will report how easy and acceptable it is to use.
