First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving the COVID-19 vaccine to babies as young as 6 months old can lower their chance of developing type 1 diabetes. It involves over 2,200 children who have a high genetic risk for the disease. Half will get the vaccine, half a placebo, and researchers will track who develops diabetes-related autoantibodies or type 1 diabetes itself.
