Scientists test if your spit can spread COVID-19
NCT ID NCT04348240
Summary
This study aimed to understand how COVID-19 spreads, especially by people who don't feel sick. Researchers collected saliva, nasal swabs, and other samples from 55 people who either had COVID-19 with no or mild symptoms, or who had been in close contact with someone who tested positive. A key part of the study involved participants reading a script with and without a mask to see if masks help stop the virus from spreading through droplets in speech.
