Lockdowns triggered major shifts in online gambling, study reveals
NCT ID NCT04714008
Summary
This research project investigated how COVID-19 pandemic restrictions changed online gambling behaviors in France and Sweden. Researchers analyzed anonymous tracking data from 120,000 registered online gamblers to see if lockdowns led to more gambling or different patterns. The study compared France (which had strict lockdowns) with Sweden (which did not) to understand how government policies influenced gambling habits during the health crisis.
