Face-Down breathing technique tested to keep COVID patients off ventilators
NCT ID NCT05178212
Summary
This study looked at whether a specific non-invasive treatment could help hospitalized COVID-19 patients with severe breathing problems avoid needing a ventilator. The treatment combined high-flow oxygen delivered through the nose with patients lying on their stomachs while awake. Researchers followed 600 patients in Argentina to see if this approach reduced the need for intubation and improved survival.
