Timing of ovulation: does cortisol play a role?

NCT ID NCT06877429

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the natural daily rise and fall of cortisol (a stress hormone) is reflected in the fluid around eggs in women undergoing IVF. Researchers will collect blood and follicular fluid samples at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. from 20 healthy women aged 18-35. The goal is to understand if cortisol helps control inflammation during ovulation, which may improve fertility treatments.
