Can we predict which heart aneurysms will grow?
NCT ID NCT07764081
First seen Aug 13, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks back at the medical records of 1,000 people with coronary artery aneurysms—bulges in the heart's blood vessels. Researchers want to understand how these aneurysms change over time, what factors increase the risk of progression, and whether different treatment strategies lead to different outcomes. By analyzing imaging and clinical data, the study aims to provide insights that could guide future management decisions for this condition.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- This research could help doctors predict which aneurysms are likely to grow and choose the best treatment approach, potentially improving outcomes for people with this condition.
- What could go wrong
- Because this is a retrospective study, it can only show associations, not cause and effect. The findings may be limited by incomplete data or differences in how patients were managed.
