Chill pill for your mouth? device aims to save taste during cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT06579248

Summary

This study is testing a new cooling device that fits in the mouth during radiation therapy for throat cancer. The goal is to see if cooling the mouth can help protect a patient's sense of taste, which is often damaged by radiation. Researchers will enroll 15 adults receiving combined radiation and chemotherapy to see if using the device is practical and if it helps preserve taste.
