Chill out, heart attack: cooling arteries may reduce injury

Summary
This study tests a new way to reduce heart damage in people having a severe heart attack (STEMI). When blood flow is restored to the heart, it can cause additional injury. Researchers are cooling the heart's arteries during the procedure to see if this limits that damage. The trial will enroll 60 participants and measure heart muscle injury using MRI scans.
