Cheaper scan may rival MRI for spotting chemo success in breast cancer

NCT ID NCT06220214

First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study compares a contrast-enhanced digital mammogram (CEDM+CEDBT) with standard breast MRI to see if it can accurately predict whether breast cancer has been eliminated by chemotherapy before surgery. About 30 women with locally advanced breast cancer will get 1-2 of these special mammograms during or after chemo. If successful, this could offer a more affordable and accessible way to assess treatment response.
