Contact lens as medicine? early trial tests new way to treat eye disease
NCT ID NCT04225611
Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety and comfort of a special contact lens designed to slowly release a steroid medication (dexamethasone) into the eye. The goal is to see if this lens can be a new way to treat recurrent cystoid macular edema, a condition that causes swelling in the back of the eye and can lead to vision loss. A small group of up to 6 participants will wear the lens for one week while doctors closely monitor their eyes.
