First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a combination of chemotherapy drugs (VP16 and carboplatin) followed by local heat therapy can control retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer in children, without needing to remove the eye or use radiation. It involves 133 children with different stages of the disease, aiming to preserve vision and avoid more aggressive treatments. The approach is not a cure but aims to control the tumor and save the eye.
