Brain wave monitor may cut opioid use in Kids' tonsil surgery

NCT ID NCT07577154

First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a special brain monitor (Conox) during anesthesia helps children aged 3 to 12 need less opioid pain medicine during tonsil and adenoid surgery. Half the children will get standard anesthesia care, and the other half will have anesthesia guided by the brain monitor. The goal is to see if the monitor reduces opioid use and leads to faster recovery with less pain and agitation after surgery.
