Summary
This study tests if a 10-day course of oral amoxicillin works as well as a single injected dose of penicillin for treating congenital syphilis in newborns up to 30 days old. About 374 infants will be enrolled at 12 U.S. sites. The goal is to find a treatment that is easier to give and just as effective.
