First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests a special scanner that helps surgeons see cancer cells on removed tissue right during breast-conserving surgery. The goal is to lower the number of women who need a second surgery because some cancer was left behind. About 100 women scheduled for lumpectomy will take part, and the scanner is already approved for use in Europe.
