New study tests better ways to unblock the stomach in advanced cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07230665

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at two endoscopic procedures that help people with advanced cancer who have a blocked stomach or upper intestine, making it hard to eat or drink. About 200 adults with this condition will receive either a newer ultrasound-guided bypass or a standard metal stent. The goal is to see which approach works better, causes fewer repeat blockages, and improves nutrition and quality of life.
