New nerve block technique aims for faster, safer pain relief after surgery

NCT ID NCT02911168

Summary

This study compared two different ways of performing a nerve block to manage pain after breast surgery. Researchers tested a newer method (proximal intercostal block) against a standard one (paravertebral block) in 20 female patients. The goal was to see if the newer technique was faster, easier to see with ultrasound, and safer.
