First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study follows 480 older adults in low-income housing to see which treatment works better long-term for stopping tooth decay: a silver diamine fluoride liquid painted on teeth, or a standard filling plus fluoride varnish. Participants are aged 62 and older and will be checked for up to 6 years. The goal is to find out which approach better prevents cavities, tooth loss, and pain.
