First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study follows 480 older adults living in subsidized housing to see which treatment works better long-term for stopping tooth decay: a silver diamine fluoride liquid painted on teeth or a standard filling plus fluoride varnish. Participants are aged 62 and older and will be checked for up to 6 years. The goal is to find the most effective way to control cavities and improve quality of life.
