Doctors test two ways to fix swallowing problem without major surgery
NCT ID NCT04578769
Summary
This study is comparing two versions of a minimally invasive procedure called POEM to treat achalasia, a condition that makes swallowing difficult. Doctors will test whether cutting just the inner muscle layer or cutting through the full muscle wall works better to relieve symptoms and is safer. The goal is to find the most effective technique to help patients swallow more easily.
