Summary
This study tested whether a pathogen-reduced cryoprecipitate (a blood product that helps blood clot) works as well as the standard version in controlling bleeding during heart and liver transplant surgeries. 208 adult patients were given one of the two FDA-approved products. The goal was to see if the new product could reduce the need for additional blood transfusions and improve outcomes.
