Can we ditch opioids after bone surgery? new study tests a safer pain plan

NCT ID NCT07265557

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study is testing whether giving patients pain medicine without opioids after major bone surgery is possible and works well. About 100 adults who had orthopedic surgery will either get the usual opioid prescription or an opioid-free plan. The main goal is to see if a larger study can be done, not to prove which plan is better.
