First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested two different doses (5 µg and 10 µg) of the drug dexmedetomidine, added to standard spinal anesthesia, in 60 women having planned C-sections. The goal was to see which dose provides longer pain relief and muscle relaxation after surgery. Researchers measured how long numbness and muscle block lasted, and monitored heart rate and blood pressure for safety.
