Chatbot vs. counselor: which helps High-Risk patients get genetic testing?

NCT ID NCT06089421

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of providing pre-test genetic education to people at high risk for certain cancers: a chatbot (GIA) versus a genetic counselor. About 96 participants will receive education from either the chatbot or a counselor, then decide whether to get genetic testing. Researchers want to see if the chatbot is as effective as a counselor in helping people make informed decisions about testing.
