Local health heroes tested to fight high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT05877898
Summary
This study tested whether trained community health workers could help adults with high blood pressure and food insecurity eat more fruits and vegetables to improve their health. 75 participants from specific Florida zip codes were randomly assigned to receive either basic information, educational sessions, or education plus personalized support like grocery trips and cooking classes. The goal was to see if this community-based approach could help lower blood pressure over four weeks.
