Local helpers tackle high blood pressure and hunger
NCT ID NCT05877898
Summary
This study tested whether trained community health workers could help adults with high blood pressure who struggle to afford healthy food. 75 participants from specific Florida zip codes were randomly assigned to receive either basic information, educational sessions, or education plus personalized support like grocery trips and cooking classes. The goal was to see if this community-based approach could help people eat more fruits and vegetables and lower their blood pressure over four weeks.
