Summary

This pilot study tests whether adding a community health worker to the care team helps children newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes improve blood sugar control. About 28 children under 17 with government insurance and living near Philadelphia will take part. The study tracks blood sugar levels, hospital visits, and missed appointments to see if extra support makes a difference.
