Double antiviral attack: new combo may knock out flu in vulnerable patients

NCT ID NCT04712539

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two antiviral drugs, baloxavir and oseltamivir, can treat severe flu better than oseltamivir alone in people who have had a stem cell transplant or have blood cancer. About 60 participants will receive the combination therapy. The goal is to see if it lowers the amount of virus faster and reduces the need for long hospital stays or intensive care.
