Double antiviral attack: new hope for flu in vulnerable patients

NCT ID NCT04712539

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two antiviral drugs, baloxavir and oseltamivir, works better than oseltamivir alone for severe flu in people who have had a stem cell transplant or have blood cancer. About 60 participants will be followed for 30 days to see if the combo reduces viral levels and prevents complications like long hospital stays. The goal is to shorten and ease flu infections in those with weakened immune systems.
